Babbedabedada babbedabedada babbedadebaba, this is sunshine-filtered funky house making a comeback soon like Tab Clear.  Possibly.

Granted it was released when funky house was still popular.

Rick Wade – Fade Away

This is funky as house music, really groovy, really good times, almost can feel it being played in Revolution bars circa 2005 but is far too good.  Everything Moodymann does is just exceptional.  Is funky house making an underground comeback?

Just how good is Moodymann?

Detroit heaven.

Moodymann – Music People

Remember funky house?  Well it still exists, most of it is shite but now and again a rose rises through the manure like this future classic to be played at Revolution in 2017.

Robosonic & Adana Twins – La Fique

Funky sounding house is making some kind of comeback at the moment, and this is a superb mid-2000’s sounding track but nothing cheesy, just good quality funky house.  Who would have thought it?  See that?  It’s a f’ing tuba.

Insert comment about lady in video being an appealing side project too.

Darius Syrossian – My Side Project

I cannot say I was expecting this when I clicked play, especially after the classic techno masterpiece from Carl Craig on Saturday just gone by – but a proper full-on funky house disco kind of thing.  Girl music.

Tom Trago – Use Me Again (Carl Craig Remix)

Wouldn’t sound out of place at a funky house night at Revolution with it’s high pitched vocals and gay funky house beat but this is quite delightful and very modern sounding despite what I have just said.

Jon Dasilva – remember him?  No probably not.  He did something once.

And he has done something again – combining funky house girlie vocals with Maceo’s fabulous basslines.

Lovely.  But funky.  Dare you?

Maceo Plex & Jon Dasilva – Love Somebody Else

Sometimes DJ Sneak comes out with an absolute cracker of a tune – this one is really kind of funky and summery – oh and he hates the Swedish House Mafia.

Good stuff.

Dj Sneak – Boogie Allright

It takes a while to build up, which is more than fine by me, before breaking out into a very warm vocal house tune, such a nice warm feeling to it.  Perhaps slightly in the bracket of funky house.  Definitely a repeat listen.

Lovebirds – Want You In My Soul

Such a feel-good vocal house track this, some might even call it funky house – I think I might just call it that, ha ha ha!

Fries & Bridges – Forever This

It’s house.  And it’s funky.  Oh shit, funky house must be back.  It does feel good though.
